Danke, Berlin International Scool!!

I enjoyed making lanterns because I made friends with a girl of 5 years. It made
me happy to see that she was happy. At first, she was shy but then when we
talked she started to be happy and smiled a lot. I liked the trip to the refugee
home there. I liked making friends. The girl, she didn’t speak any English but we
could communicate when we started our activities. I communicated by showing
the crafts to her. I would show it and she would do it then. I really enjoyed my
My favorite thing was that making of lanterns as I was able to make lanterns
really nicely with the children there. I liked the children. There was a baby –
sitting with a lantern and it was nice when I played with the baby. He reminded
me on my baby brother. I felt, I was making jokes to him as the baby was
laughing. The baby seems to be happy. I felt kind of tearing, I had tears coming,
not tears of sadness but tears of happiness, that I made other children happy.
When I started, I was excited and as I looked around the room, I felt happy and
good to come here. I liked to see that the refugee children were happy.
I liked especially giving out the gifts as it made me happy.
I liked when we went to the play area and the small children played with us and
I felt happy.

I liked to make the refugees happy because it made me happy too.
First, it felt a little bit strange. But then, it was nice to meet them and it was
fun. I liked it when we made the lanterns together with them.
It made me happy and I also was a little bit surprised that the refugee kids are
going to school here in Berlin.
I was happy because they made me happy and I made them happy.
I liked to make the kids HAPPY and to play with them!!! : ))
To come to the refugee home was a big thing for me because some of my new
friends there did not speak English, but it was easy to play together with them.
Kommentare der 4.Klasse:
I felt very impressed by how nice the children were. It was a very interesting
experience and fun. I never knew that refugee children would be so shy.
I liked how people smiled when we were playing and making the lanterns.
I felt happy because people were kind and friendly at the refugee home.
It was a very nice experience and some questions came into my mind: Are the
refugee children going outside with their new lanterns? Do their parents have
jobs? I felt that everyone there was really happy.
I liked when we gave them the presents. I was so happy that I wanted to give
them even more presents.
It met some refugee children there, especially I played with one child. It felt for
me that I found a new friend when going to the refugee home. When I gave the
kid one of the gifts, he was so happy and I was happy too.
Mitarbeiterinnen unserer Schule:
I was pleasantly surprised how well organized the Refugee Home was. It had a
calm atmosphere and is surely one of the cleanest and well organized homes I
have been to. The fact that they cook in the house is such a treat. Eventually
everything went well according to plan which was another surprise. Most
importantly our children and the refugee children got on well, there was
sharing and caring exchanged during this visit. I am so happy to be a small part
of it. Thank you for asking me.
